SCOPELAND Direct Desk

SCOPELAND Direct Desk is a tried-and-tested standard tool that has been used successfully by software developers and power users for many years. Direct Desk is a development environment for professional application development, a report generator, and an ad-hoc database access and administration tool rolled into one. Direct Desk implements ,Universal Application' development methodology consistently and comprehensively.

  • As a data access and reporting tool, Direct Desk makes it possible to access all the information stored in a respective database, and also display this data linked together, without any prepared data views, SQL knowledge, and without even having to know the data structures. Data content is revealed to the user in its context and in its logical relationship to other data practically by itself. All you need to do is select and click to construct almost any complex database accesses, without SQL and without ever having to check to see what elements are linked, what they are linked to, and how they are linked.
  • As a development environment, Direct Desk allows you to configure complete and complex database applications, ideally entirely without any manual programming, simply by using interactive ‘clicking together’ and by entering structural descriptions, calculation or plausibility rules, and process operations. The integrated, pre-built SCOPELAND functionality only needs to be extended in exceptional cases, and in the way we are familiar with from Office programs, that is, by writing a macro ‘just this once’. All the other program functionality comes together semi-automatically, while you assemble your programs and layout live on the screen.

Direct Desk Applications

Direct Desk is also used at the same time as the runtime environment for Windows-based SCOPELAND programs. A greater or fewer number of functions are activated for each individual user, depending on their access rights profile. A ‘normal’ user, who should only use their own ready-made, specialist applications, will only see their applications and nothing else.
